Oran Hoffmann - Vasarely Material Archives
Oran Hoffmann - Vasarely Material Archives
During a year of research at Fondation Vasarely, Aix-en-Provence, Oran Hoffmann meticulously organized and catalogued the original materials that the visual artist Victor Vasarely had employed for his large-scale works. He isolated the ceramic tiles, aluminiumpieces or paper sheets he discovered and photographed each of these elements separately. Hoffmann shows and draws us nearer to the source from which artistic work erupts, at the same time his photographic interventions both explore and interpret Vasarely’s work. A selection of these photographs is now available in book form, Vasarely Material Archives, published by RVB Books, Paris.
