In December 2024, Olivier Kervern explored Le Marais, around Rue de Bretagne and Rue de Turenne, using an analog camera. Thirty black-and-white photographs were printed.

The exhibition Ami de quartier curated by AMI Paris, captures the essence of the Marais through these images. Kervern’s photographs reveal the subtle poetry of the neighborhood—the murmur of cafés, the play of reflections on shop windows, and the shifting urban landscape. His work explores how wandering through familiar streets shapes our sense of place, turning everyday scenes into personal landmarks. Beyond the visual, Ami de quartier questions the evolving relationship between individuals and their environment, depicting the neighborhood as a dynamic space where memory and present intertwine.
